Since we added a new mechanic to our Siege Engineer Game, I needed to create new assets to accommodate for them. We added a beginning of an “Upgrade System” in order to add some spice to our game play. We had received feedback that the game was a bit too repetitive, so adding an upgrade to the system will give players some more creativity to plan out their routes.
So here is a Upgrade shop as well as the “currency’ players can pick up to expend there.
I also added animations for an explosion so players will recognize when a bombardment hits them. I purposely made the explosion cartoon-like to fit with the aesthetics of the game.
We also conducted 5 different play test sessions this week and discovered that we are in need of more feedback from our newly added upgrade system. I was in charge of note-taking for our play tests. Our level design has definitely become easier to navigate through.
There will be one more session of play testing before the final code, I’ll continue to finish the alternative tiles so our level designer will be able to implement them as well as edit some of our current assets.
